Spanish Language Classes

Spanish students at the Tamarindo Campus

At our flagship school in Tamarindo, Costa Rica , we offer Spanish classes for students of all levels and experience. Spanish classes begin every Monday of the year. We offer nine lesson units starting with beginner Spanish and progressing towards fluency. Classes are held 5 days a week, Monday through Friday and class sizes are limited to a maximum of 6 students. Classes are held from 8am to 12pm and also from 1pm to 5pm during the summer.

Teaching Methodology

Our school uses the Communicative Approach to teaching Spanish. Our small class sizes ensure a personal, customizable experience that can be tailored to each students learning style. Our professors use a combination of the following to ensure our students learn and retain as much Spanish as possible:

Basic Spanish Program

The Basic Spanish Program consists of 20 Spanish lessons per week at 1 hour per lesson. Students can choose to take anywhere between 1 week to 12 weeks of classes. Classes are held between 8am and 12pm (also 1pm - 5pm during summer months). Class sizes are limited to 6 students per instructor.

Intensive Spanish

The Intensive Spanish Program consists of 30 Spanish lessons per week at 1 hour per lesson. Students can take anywhere between 1 week to 12 weeks of classes. Classes are held between 8am and 12pm and again from 1pm to 3pm, Monday through Friday.

Private Spanish Program

The Private Spanish Program consists of anywhere between 5 and 35 lesson hours of 1 on 1 instruction per week. This option is ideal for those who prefer learning in an very intensive, fast paced environment with an emphasis on individual progress. Students can choose a schedule either entirely of private instruction hours, or choose to add 1-2 hours a day of private instruction to their Basic Spanish or Intensive Spanish Programs.
